Juliana España Keller was born in London, England of Spanish and English descent and emigrated to New York City, USA as a teenager. She spent her formative years in and around a New York attitude, her thirties living in the jungle of Ciudad Guyana, Venezuela and now makes Montréal, Quebéc, her home in Canada.

In her thesis year at Concordia University, 2003, she was invited to an international artist residency with British artist, Gillian Wearing at the Atlantic Center for the Arts in Florida, USA. Two short videos created in the residency spawned incredible opportunities to participate in many projects with that particular group of international artists from the residency and to present their work at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Philadelphia, USA alongside a Wearing retrospective.
